Our main objective is to reflect on two aesthetic concepts that cross the third chapter of Juan Emar's novel Ayer. We refer to the terms of equilibrium and drunkenness. The reflection seeks to put into discussion these two notions with four specific materials: The narrative discourse of Ruben de Loa (metalepsis of Juan Emar) in the novel Ayer, a painting by Emar, "Maternidad"; a homonymous theatrical version of Ayer, and some of his "art notes" systematized in a study by Patricio Lizama. In order to propi tiate an overflow of the disciplines and fonnats from this reading and interpretation, stimulating a reading-fabric. we propose the tool of analysis denominated mise en abyme. In addition, and not least, we will deal with some of Friedrich Nietzsche's aesthetic appraisals. In this way, we hope to orbit what we will call here an artist's "inner landscape".
