I present an analysis of the film Parque via from the Cultural Studies' point of view. The emphasis is on a new way of representing the relationship between the household worker and the house wife, signed by the empowerment of the worker over its employer which is present in this movie and in other similar ones. This empowerment questions the colonialism that is implicit in this work relationship from its origins, and is showed on the ethnic difference as a representation strategy. Although the questioning and empowerment destabilize the hierarchies of power, they cannot reverse them definitely, so the colonialism of this activity is preserved.
