This paper, using the case study method and qualitative approach, studies the series The Mechanism, produced and distributed by Netflix, whose first season was launched worldwide on March 23, 2018, will be analyzed. It's a fiction created from real events, but which nevertheless presents a questionable narrative, especially in the political moment in which it emerged. Thus, the context in which the series was launched, the year of the Brazilian presidential elections, and its potential to influence electoral choices in that period are questioned.
