Obesity and overweight in Chile, affect 27.6% and 12.3% of the population respectively, according to the National Health Survey (2016). These rating have been increasing in recent years, so several interventions have been used to try to control them. One of them is the implementation, starting June 2016 of Law 20,606, on food nutritional composition and its advertising, by Decree 13/15. This regulation seeks through a seal of critical nutrients "HIGH IN", to be alert at the buying time, and so avoid choosing food with stamps and be able the acquisition of food with fewer imprints or free of them. Almost, three years after of its implementation, it is necessary to evaluate its effectiveness and acceptance or rejection by consumers. The methodology included the application of a survey with closed and structured questions, previously validated, to a sample of stratified population and its subsequent statistical analysis. It was concluded that the critical nutrient seals are recognized and understood in a greater percentage (93.39%) by women less than 17 years of age. Regarding the buying habits, it was concluded that the labeling does not substantially modify the consumption habits in the analyzed groups, showing women the greater availability to make a change in his purchase.
