The article proposes a reflection on how intersectionality has been used in recent research on migration in Chile. Turning to Latin American theorists, the political-theoretical path of the notion is exposed to argue its use as a research perspective, as well as to enunciate its explanatory value regarding South-South migrations. Based on the review of a set of articles published in indexed journals between 2014 and 2020, the authors affirm that the intersectionality in migratory studies has allowed, among others, to advance in the understanding of racism and sexualization of migrant women and girls.
