The article develops a set of reflective arguments that allow us to understand the relevance of aesthetic education as a way to generate spaces of sensitivity in Chilean school education, particularly in territories that lack effective opportunities. The relevance of aesthetic education for social and cultural transformation in vulnerable territories is explained from different angles. In its formative action, aesthetic education involves a set of new rationalities directly linked to the emotions and affections that students in training can develop. These interweaves of feeling and thought allow us to broaden the possibilities of creativity and understanding of the world they live in, finding solutions to the problems that affect them, especially in territories with social inequalities (rural and island) and with very low access to quality education.
