This article attempts to revisit Mariategui's work at the time of his 90th birthday. In this we recover some ideas of the Peruvian thinker that help us interpret the current reality of our region. Ideas such as coloniality of power, of knowledge and of being, the search for reciprocal, solidarity and cooperative relations present in other ways of conceiving the economy (social and solidarity economy), the notions of Sumak Kawsay or the incorporation of a non-Western look for Understand the processes of social revolution. These are some of the many contributions that Amauta has made to enrich the intellectual, political and cultural heritage, not only of the Marxist tradition in a regional key but also of Latin American critical thinking as a whole.
