This article explores the relationships between birds and flowers as metaphors, allegories or ideologems of eroticism and non-romantic love in songs and poems by Raúl Gardy (1917-1884), Violeta Parra (1917-1967) and Víctor Jara (1932- 1973). The joint reading of the three composers allows us to study a transition from peasant folklore to a musical modernity that also includes gender roles and multiple understandings of conceiving Chilean love. Finally, an attempt is made to establish a relationship between nature, genre and writing based on the representations of love through birds and flowers.
