The transformations produced in Chile from the seventies to the present- the Chilean dictatorship and the establishment of the neoliberal system- gave rise to the creation of an urban imaginary based on the idea of modernity and Latin American economic power. All this resulted in the discursive and symbolic exclusion of what did not ratify the newly armed discourse. This article analyzes the images and discursive operations that Nona Fernández uses to show which are the dominant lines of this imaginary configured as a global imaginary. And, at the same time, the different strategies that since the diegesis are set as acts of citizen resistance, as an attempt to dethrone the hegemonic imaginary and create social representations closer to the society that is sought to represent. For that purpose, the actions carried out by Greta, one of the main characters, will be analyzed.
