The study of the development of vitiviniculture in remote areas of the Cuyo region has been a topic rarely addressed. In this article the participation of the provincial State in the promotion of this activity was investigated through the organization of an agricultural school for the training of qualified personnel in the vitivinicultural production. Its subsequent transfer to the national government and conversion into wine station was also reconstructed. The research made it possible to observe that promotion of winemaking activity, through the creation of institutions, had its greatest stimulus in the context of an educational policy aimed at agricultural training and the incentive to regional productions, but its impact was relatively less than initial projections.
