The assistive products allow to assist persons with disability, their purpose is to provide them with the opportunity to carry out daily activities in a productive and autonomous way. The products for lower limbs facilitate the execution of the gait, providing personal mobility and helping with the realization of daily life activities; within this group is the quad cane, a device that provides support during walking activities, has a handle and a single cane that bifurcates on four legs that improve the stability. Although these devices are available in the market, there are patients with disability that have limited access for these products, therefore the motivation for this research is to propose products that are accessible to the population, low cost and that provide security, stability, resistance and comfort. According to this, the propose is to redesign the quad cane to add value and adjust it to local materials, supported in static analysis of mechanical stress with SolidWorks., to generate structurally resistant devices that also guarantee functionality, safety and quality to the patients. The safety factor from the static analysis was 1.5 and the maximum displacement was 27.5 mm on the handle. For the redesign, the handle center was aligned with the tube axis of the upper shank, decreasing the displacement to 4.9 mm, in addition, the lower shank was lengthened, generating an additional leg to the cane, achieving a decrease of stress in the base sheet (up to 90%), along the lower shank (83%) and the upper shank (up to 81%). In relation to the material, it was selected Aluminum 6061- T6 for the upper and lower shanks and stainless steel AISI 304 for the base sheet, materials available in Venezuelan market.
