Institutional, community and university radios are opening spaces for supporting cultural and academic content to the student experimentation. The present study is a documentary research showing the historical part and the actual significance of the cases of Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Ecuador, with an emphasis on the challenges facing this conglomerate that has been slow to enter the new digital interactive dynamics and productions incorporate more social content necessary in these times, where commercial speech abound and civil society requires reliable media forums.
