This article analyzes the participation of peruvian intellectual Mariano Felipe Paz Soldan within the Nueva Revista de Buenos Aires during the Pacific War. To do this, first, the paper examines the context of editing and production of the magazine, and its position in the Buenos Aires's editorial world in the nineteenth century; second, it goes into the role of Paz Soldán in the peruvian historiography and his different contributions to the magazine, between 1881 and 1884. This study shows the unfolding of the authorship of Paz Soldan and the caracteristics of his arguments in defence of interests of Perú and Bolivia -and his consonance with the magazine's publishing lines-with the aim of influencing public opinion in favour of the allied cause.
