An important quality of the finite-set model predictive control (FS-MPC) is its high dynamics response, which guarantee the fastest tracking reference. However, this high dynamic is constant at all times, even in steady-state, where it is not necessary to keep a high performance. This increases the number of commutations and with that the switching losses. This paper proposes a full model predictive speed control with a fast-dynamic response and reduced commutations in steady-state. The method is applied in a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). Simulation results are presented to validate the proposed control scheme.
