It is proposed that the precipitation reaction between lead II salts and the sodium salt of 4-amino, N-2 thiazolyl benzene sulfonamide (sodium sulfathiazol) be used as an analytical method using electroanalytic procedures including potentiometry and conductimetry. The precipitation reaction produces a low solubility microcrystalline product with a Kps of 2,318×10-10 (ml/dm3)3 at 25°C. Potentiometric methods are applied by using the variations in concentrations of the reactive species and pH based on the hydrolysis phenomena that accompany the double-substitution reaction. Similarly, conductimetric techniques are applied by measuring the variations in conductance occurring over the duration of the reaction analyzed. The procedures proposed are simple to apply and the results show acceptable values for precision and accuracy.
