Reaction between cis-[Co(NH3)4(H2O)2]3+ and ammonia in aqueous solution, in the presence of a carbohydrate, leads to the formation of the tetranuclear complex of cobalt (III): [Co4(NH3)12(OH6)]6+ partially resolved. The degree of resolution depends on the nature of the carbohydartes used.
