In this work the process for the elimination of noise through wavelet shrinkage denoising (WSD), is discussed. Experiments done using circular saws identified three sources of noise generation: teeth aerodynamics, disk vibration and cutting process. The experimental signals are contaminated because of the measuring system intrinsic noise. It is concluded that the implemented algorithm does not present good denoising performance in this specific case, because they also remove information about signal intrinsic characteristics.
