While rebuilding the church "La Purisima Conception" in Colina, human remains from the old cemetery were discovered. As a consequence, this cemetery founded in the XVI century and used until the middle of the XIX century, demanded salvage archaeological excavations. The observed mortuary practices show similarities with other colonial cemeteries located in Santiago. The recovered bone material corresponded to a minimum number of 61 individuals, among them unborn children, infants, juveniles and adults. Pathological conditions are related to nutritional problems, degenerative and infectious processes, and traumatic lesions. Tooth wear pattern and the incidence of dental diseases in 11 mature individuals, one juvenile and two children were analysed. The frequency and distribution of dental caries, antemortem tooth lost, non intentional tooth trauma and enamel hypoplasias were evaluated. Furthermore historical data regarding the church are discussed.
