This paper attempt to present a systematic view of the protection legal instruments relating to cultural heritage in Chile and, in particular, those relating to protection of archaeological and anthropological heritage. Then, we analyze certain pertinent juriprudencial cases. Finally, differents ethical and legal issues, like State ownership of archaeological monuments and legislative protection of indigenes human remains are considered.
