Objective. Our objective is to evaluate the response to the training of postural balance in healthy athletes, through specific training. Methods. 42 soccer players between 15 and 17 years were considerate and 22 was excluded from the study, all they belong to a professional football club. Were evaluated with the test Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) and then subjected to a specific training during eight weeks, with a frequency of two days per week employing fifteen minutes in each session. Results. The results showed us improvement ofthe postural balance in all the cases, and It had special signification in 14 of 16 tested directions (α = 0.05). At the same time no significant differences have had obtained, in thetraining with the consideration of the dominant and non dominant member. Conclusions. In the postural balance of young players subjected to a specific training, there areimprovements.
