This article presents an analysis of expressions of autonomic leadership in the Valparaiso Citizen Movement (MVC are its initials in Spanish). For this, semi-structured interviews to representatives of the MVC have been made, as well as participant observations of citizen movements. The results have been presented within the frames of "Leadership and Organization in the MVC", which contains the manifestations of leadership in the movement from its participants; and "Tensions in the MCV", which is a critical and situated reading of the studied phenomenon. This investigation wants to contribute to the construction of a local understanding about leadership under a critical perspective, and elicit valid reflections about new forms of social movement in order to generate articulations between different actors and possibilities of social transformation in local governments.
