Justification: Global Health Initiatives call for humane care delivery, could be a strategy that increases the welfare of women. Objective: To relate the integrated care delivery in maternal well-being. Method: A review in the Scielo database, Science Direct, PubMed and Cinahl. Was obtained 16 quantitative research articles, 4 of qualitative and 20 who contributed to the topic. Results: Wellness is a multidimensional concept related to the quality of obstetric care and increases when women participate in a humane mode of delivery, with less invasive procedures, takes lead role, highlighting the interpersonal component related to good treatment of health professionals. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop strategies for comprehensive care of women during childbirth, the awareness of health professionals is key in this process. © 2012 Fundación Index.
