The essay articulates Benjamin's reflections about childhood, expounded in diverse texts. The author highlights the childhood experience for its capacity to transmute objects, giving them a use contrary to the expected, a disfiguring that can even reach the identity of the self. Therefore, a certain destructive character resides in childhood, starting from a kind of fidelity to the object that permits its rescue from evolutionism. Based on certain comments by Agamben and Didi-Huberman, conclusions are reached about childhood as an image of creativity that is able to recover exactly what has gone and announce the difference to come.
