This article discusses how was the first reception of international environmental policy debate by the Communist and Socialist parties of Chile. The article focuses on the Popular Unity government that led President Salvador Allende, for the reason that his government fully agreed with the staging global environmental debate on the occasion of the celebration of the United Nations Conference on Environment human in Stockholm in 1972. The study was conducted on the review to the main briefs media that identified these parties. The newspaper El Siglo for the Communist Party and the newspaper Las Noticias de Última Hora in the case of the Socialist Party, considering that the media not only reflects the views and ideology of those who write in it, but also influence and shape opinion in its readership.
