This texts analyzes how the Chilean Constitucional Court uses the proportionality test since 2006, the first time that the Court refered to it. In this endeavor this article expects to clarify the real incidence that the proportionality has had since then, and, likewise, elucidate the conception of proportionality generally used by the Court from the perspectives of some comparative lessons herein exposed about such a standard of constitutional adjudication. When the Court applies the test, it is used in a way that rejects the optimizing conception of it.
