The abuse of drugs ingestion and the creation of new ones, has generated an uprise of Adverse Drug Reaction, which must be defined due to the implication in people's health. One of these ADR is Fixed Drug Eruption (FDE), reason why we will discuss the case of a FDE associated to gemfibrozil. A 75 years old chilean man, who presented dermatologic lesions in the same location in two opportunities associated to the ingestion of GMZ. FDE represents 510% of all ADR and can manifest on skin and/or mucous membranes and recurs in the same site every time the patient takes the drug. The most common medications that cause FDE are: antibiotics, analgesics and hypnotics, but there are no reports of cases associated with GMZ. Generalized bullous FDE may be clinically misdiagnosed as StevensJohnson syndrome (SJS) or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), but there are clinical and histopathological differences. The analysis of the signs and symptoms and the histopathological findings of the case, are consistent with generalized bullous FDE due to gemfibrozil.
