The objective of this article is to identify and analyze the factors leading to the expulsion of Haitians from their country of origin toward different latitudes on the American continent, in particular, Chile. Methodologically, it tests the Push and Pull theory, which considers many factors for expulsion from the country of origin, such as attraction in the receiving county; information collection and analysis techniques and a review of academic indexed literature and press reports are utilized. The main motives identified for the emigration of Haitian citizens are the persistent political and economic instability of the country, fruit of a predatory elite little prone to development, added to increasing environmental degradation that makes it impossible to give food security to its citizens, as well as the crises that befell the country after the 2010 earthquake. Thus, it is possible to conclude that the factors expressed herein are interrelated and reinforce each other mutually, generating a context of multidimensional crisis that, in the last instance, justifies the decision of the Haitian to emigrate from his country of origin and establish himself in another country, as is the case with the massive arrival of Haitians in Chile, a tendency that continues to increase.
