The new socioeconomic conditions exacerbated inequalities and delegitimized traditional management structures of power. In such a context, the citizenship started to call for its rights, what has led masses of people to the streets, raising new forms of organization and new ways of living democracy. The article seeks to highlight some distinctive features of the new social movements in comparison with the characteristics of the previous and more traditional ones.
