This article’s premise is that the concept of aura has been developped subtantially on the basis of Walter Benjamin’s statements in the essay “The Work of Art in the Age of its Mechanical Reproducibility”. Given this bias inflicted by the art theory’s preeminence, we propose to expand the concept’s posibilities through a rehabilitation that seeks to incorporate it to a wider epistemological frame: i.e. experience. To achieve this, we review a cluster of methodological considerations regarding the notion of aura, and propose a critical approach that links different essays written by Benjamin to this concept.
