Since the last presidential elections performed in Chile in 2013, the discussion about the structural changes in political, economic, educational and employment matters, committed to in the government program of the parties coalition that eventually proved victorious in this process (the named New Majority), has acquired great importance. In this context, this paper attempts to analyze the changes in the labor market, specifically: show the political scenario that has taken shape in recent months; the positions of the various stakeholders in view to the changes proposed; and the characteristics of the labor reform whose discussion begun in 2015 by the legislature power.
