We discuss interdisciplinary the notion and performance of the notion of topophilia from so-called "spatial turn"; and advances in the comparative discovery of spaces and valued urban dynamics that generate strong identification among citizens, especially those that reinforce social cohesion and social integration in cities exposed to strong processes of transformation and fragmentation in recent years, as is the Gran Concepción, Temuco-Padre las Casas, and Valdivia. Using a methodological strategy of participatory, dialogic and expressive character, such as collective mapping. Finally some guidelines are proposed to include such initiatives in the framework of integrated urban planning and sustainable development of cities.
