The article aims to analyze the conventual life of the Franciscan religious of the Province of the Holy Trinity of Chile, between 1750 and 1850, with the purpose of establishing if they actually managed to live as established by their Rule and Precepts, giving up the world for the Cloister and not looking the world in the cloister. The analysis was made from primary sources, some of them unpublished, such as: Visit Reports, Acts of the Venerable Definitorium, Patents Letters, Autos and Circulars, with which we will realize how difficult it was for the religious of Santiago to live In community, and contribute to the historiography with new elements that explain the relaxation of the customs in a time of changes and transformations.
