This research aims to explore the existence of a relationship between the leadership style of school principals and the degree of satisfaction of their students. A theoretical and empirical study was conducted, through the application of a questionnaire. The findings show that, for the analyzed sample, transformational leadership impacts positively on student satisfaction. Additionally, unlike other studies that have been raised on this topic, transactional leadership is also a key determinant for the satisfaction obtained by students. Therefore, this exploratory research allows validating the dimensions of both leadership styles, transformational and transactional, contributing to new findings that will open up a way for larger quantitative studies.
