Villa Grimaldi, located in Santiago, Chile, was used by the military as a centre of interrogation, torture and execution of civilian prisoners during the 1973–1990 dictatorship. Today Villa Grimaldi is a memorial park that commemorates the life of the hundreds who either survived or perished there. This visual essay consists of stills and text taken from a work-in-progress video documentary that confronts the history and traumatic memory of this place. © 2009 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
