Five monitoring campaigns since 2007 until 2011 have been conducted in the main industrial area in central Chile (Puchuncaví-Ventanas). Several environmental risk assessment indices and statistical analysis (PCA and cluster) showed some relatively significant ecological risk especially in high industrial impacted areas near main pollution sources. In addition, predominant wind can spread pollution from high to less polluted industrial areas. Soil concentrations are showing a decline from 2009 to 2011 and this can be related to improved environmental technologies adopted by the industry in recent years.
