The central theme of this research is the "other" in Hellenistic culture. After the author philosophically analyzes the several ways of relating to the "other", he deals with nine Greco-Roman historians of the Hellenistic age, pointing in each of them to their inclination towards a vision of culture which is univocal, confusing or of analogous integration as these terms are described in the introduction.
