The definition of risk for forest fires in Chile is divided into two main groups. First is the incidence of fires and their causes, which results in a larger component called the determination of Protection Priorities. The second group corresponds to the meteorological conditions influencing the probability of fire onset. Fire hazard is closely associated with risk, from the point of view of fire behavior. There are emergency protocols in place based on the evaluation of the aforementioned risk components.
