This note is part of a research project on land sales networks in a Department of Chile between 1820 and 1850. It seeks to identify the intermediaries in one of these networks and explain their function as articulators. The notarial information was processed through UCINET software, measuring the betweenness centrality indicator. The results highlighted middle owners as the main intermediaries. It is concluded that this intermediation in the distribution of tacit information- concerning limits and rights associated with the use of the land- is of utmost importance.
