A recurrent topic in labor economics is that of the existence of comparative advantages derived from the heterogeneity of both workers and tasks. This paper overcomes the standard problem of insufficient data to test comparative advantages by employing the Chilean data contained in the 2001 IALS survey. Following Rosen's (1986) methodology the paper provides support for the hypothesis that workers and tasks are essentially heterogeneous and that comparative advantages largely determine workers' incomes
