Alzheimer’s disease is a therapeutic challenge of the first magnitude which has responded very unsatisfactorily to current treatments. Progress in the understanding of the processes associated with the pathogenesis and course of this disease suggest new therapeutic approaches, some of which are in clinical experimentation while others are still the subject of basic research
