Introduction: In this article we go through the main scientific advances in the field of Affective Neuroscience in reference to emotional regulation and the main aspects of the Post-Rationalist Constructive Model. The combination of these approaches in human behaviour allows us a better understanding of human experience. Material and Methods: Based on relevant experimental investigations, we propose a model of different emotional styles. Conclusions: According to the personality and temperament variables considered, a model of different styles of processing and experiencing emotions is proposed, as well as some suggestions towards planning a more effective treatment.
