The vast majority of the muscle pathology is traumatic in origin related to sport activity. Approximately 30% of the injuries in athletes affect the muscles. In the last few years, there has been important progress in the diagnosis of these lesions mainly due to the advanced imaging technology, especially ultrasound and magnetic resonance.
