The present work proposes the notion of testimonial field as a starting point to explain the different ways in which the testimony of political prison has been produced and received in different Latin American countries. After defining this notion, it explores the Chilean field in detail, taking as a basis a wide corpus of texts published between 1974 and 2015. Finally, it projects the proposed model to other related testimonial fields, such as the Uruguayan, the Argentinean and the Brazilian.
