Nothofagus glauca (Hualo) is an endangered tree from the Mediterranean region of Central Chile, whose natural habitat is currently undergoing severe fragmentation. This brief communication reports an outlier population located in the Andean foothills, 100 km south of the previously recognized southern distributional limit. Stand structure is briefly described, and the importance of conserving this marginal population is highlighted
