Marketing research in Latin America has experienced an important progress, but challenges still remain in order to foster more relevant research for business practice, for teaching, and for advancing the global knowledge in the discipline. These challenges are examined and several proposals for action are provided including: strengthening marketing academia in Latin America, fostering market-oriented research focusing on real market and global problems, and developing cases and teaching materials based on this research.
