This article provides an historical and critical panorama about Chilean drama throughout the XX and XXI centuries, based on the review of papers published in the Revista Chilena de Literatura since 1970 until 2018. This study examines some prominent playwriters and plays emphasized in different papers, embracing dissimilar theoretical and critical approaches, which are related to each other. Our purpose is two-fold; first, build a canon and a tradition which will order our national dramaturgy; second but no less important, demonstrate the contribution of the Revista Chilena de Literatura on the critical and theoretical studies of Chilean dramaturgy.
