This work presents the results of the combined application of archaeometric techniques to analyze surface designs on "tricolor" ceramic sherds among others. They correspond to the Regional Development period and come from the area of Quebrada de Humahuaca, in Jujuy, Argentina. The analytical techniques applied included optical microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, multispectral techniques and cross-sections. The interdisciplinary discussion of the results enabled the analysis of design execution techniques, pigment composition and overlapping pictorial layers and/or strata, among other things.
