The general objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and vital satisfaction with regards to prosocial behavior in 15 to 18 years old students, belonging to state, municipal school and state-subsidized private school in the city of Arica. The sample consisted of 210 students to whom the following instruments were applied: BarOn Emotional Intelligence Inventory (I_CE), Life Satisfaction Scale and Prosocial Behavior Scale. In this research, two hypothesis were contrasted and as a result each one established the association between variables of emotional intelligence, vital satisfaction with pro-social behavior and both hypothesis previously mentioned were confirmed. Besides, a more detailed analysis was done taking into account the sub-component of the emotional intelligence scale by BarOn and the pro-social behavior in order to demonstrate which of these sub-components are related strongly with solidarity behavior among students. At the end the importance of research based on results is discussed.
