Through a philosophical analysis of the concepts of time and [living] space, the author relates these ideas to contemporaneous urban Culture and modern existing cities, with their major concern for security and the problem of lack of space allowing for coexistence. Public spaces, understood as places to live coexisting with others, should be of great concern to urban designers and politicians in most Latin American cities.
