What we have designated as the "Niemeyer case", is a phenomenon in process, since, more than its effective materialization as a constructed venture, it, already in its project phase shows itself to be another symptom of the threat to the integrity and authenticity of the heritage value of the only Chilean city inscribed in UNESCO's List of World Heritage, where the incoherence between the imaginary volunteer and the technical responsibility of the State have artificially confronted Niemeyer with Valparaiso.
